Waterford:
The Waterford was moved to a
site approximately four miles upstream of the original
trapping site at river mile 34 and sampling resumed on the
evening of April 21 in this new location (Figure 1). A
total of six juvenile Chinook salmon were captured between
April 21 and April 30, increasing the season total to 8,088.
Daily catch ranged from 0 to 2 Chinook (Figure 2). Average
forklength was 87.1 mm and ranged from 64 mm to 103 mm.
Average weight was 7.8 g and ranged from 2.9 g to 9.8 g.

mykiss were captured in the rotary screw trap during
this sampling period.
No trap efficiency tests were conducted at Waterford during
this sample period due to low catch numbers.
Grayson:
A total of 23 juvenile Chinook
salmon were captured at Grayson between April 17 and April
30, increasing the season total to 1,428. Daily catch
ranged from 0 to 4 Chinook (Figure 3). Average forklength
was 89.5 mm and ranged from 33 mm to 120 mm. Average weight
was 9.1 g and ranged from 6.0 g to 13.1 g.

No trap efficiency tests were conducted at Grayson during
this sample period due to low catch numbers.
Environmental Data:
Instantaneous water
temperature ranged between 49.0°F and 50.0°F at Waterford,
and between 51.0°F and 54.3°F at Grayson. Turbidity
fluctuated between 2.5 NTU and 4.4 NTU at Waterford, and
from 2.3 NTU to 2.9 NTU at Grayson. During the sampling
period, flows at La Grange ranged between 7,579 cfs and
8,812 cfs, while flows at Modesto ranged between 7,366 cfs
and 8,013 cfs.
