Tuolumne River Juvenile Chinook Outmigration Update                                     June 14, 2006

May 29 through June 11, 2006, Report No. 10

Waterford:

The Waterford rotary screw trap sampled 11 out of 14 days between May 29 and June 11.  A total of 73 juvenile Chinook salmon were captured, increasing the season total to 8,505. Daily catch ranged from zero to 27 Chinook (Figure 1). Average forklength was 93.0 mm and ranged from 66 mm to 90 mm. Average weight was 9.5 g and ranged from 5.9 g to 11.4 g.

Four O. mykiss were captured in the rotary screw trap during this sampling period increasing the season total to six (Table 1).

No O. mykiss were captured in the rotary screw trap during this sampling period.

One trap efficiency test was conducted at Grayson on June 1 using Chinook from the Merced River Hatchery with a resulting efficiency of 0.0% (Table 3).
